unWanted nodes on scene loading ...
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:24:02 AM »

Hi Mike,

i'm having a serious problem which is stopping me from using Render-Q (when try to render a list of scenes) or even when loading a scene.
maybe this is not generated from shaderMeister, but it is there where i see a strange phenomenon.
here it is what happens:

i have build and animated a scene with 130 cloned objects, to whom i've applied procedural motions through Item Motion Nodes (Dponts plugin).
everything looks fine and renders well. shaderMeister is great! Really! the problem starts when i try to load a scene, where i have saved shaderMeister.
a window pops up asking for plugins to be found and loaded (see pic; unwanted_startup_00)

after ignoring them and loading, when i load shaderMeister's Nodal Graph i see the same setup of nodes applied on Item Motion Node Editor (!!!)

i can clear them and render the scene, but the most serious problem comes when want to batch render them on Render-Q; it obviously fails.  Cry

can you please confirm if it is shaderMeisters' problem or a LW's one?

p.s.: to be fair; i hope it is shaderMeisters prob, because it could be fixed a lot sooner than if it was a LW's bug.  Grin
         i like shaderMeister. Great Job!

Hi Rezart,

Hm, I'm actually thinking that it may be a problem with Denis' nodal motion plugin (coupled with a LW bug).

Can you send me a sample scene to look at? michael.wolf@db-w.com

Cheers,
Mike

Hi again,

Actually, I think I just found the culprit. Shoot me a mail and I'll send you a new build to check. Which platform are you on?

Cheers,
Mike

so i'm the first ... he-he

Mike, any chance to link exrTrader with shaderMeister, so we could save several presets within the same EXR-file?!  Roll Eyes
Pom's nodes actually have a STORE and a GET tools ... something similar? .. ok. this is enough for a bug thread.  Grin

p.s.:i'm a bit busy these days but i'd love to experiment and suggest ideas.

Not quite, it contains another fix and a new feature that still needs a bit of testing.

I did actually think about a generic plugin that would allow combined presets to be managed, but that requires a bit more thinking.

Please do that, we rely on our customers for ideas and we're always more than happy to discuss them.
