exrTrader & FPrime
« on: June 16, 2009, 11:28:06 PM »

I haven't seen this addressed anywhere - but that of course doesn't mean that it hasn't.

Does/Can exrTrader work with FPrime? If so, is it straight-forward or are there any hoops to jump through?

Hello Dave,
I haven't seen this addressed anywhere - but that of course doesn't mean that it hasn't.

The short answer would be: Unfortunately not.

The long one: exrTrader is an image filter plugin (which is the only way to access the buffers provided by LW) and these aren't supported by any of the third party renderers, including FPrime.

You can use the normal image saver that comes with exrTrader for FPrime as well... but that gives you only a few advantages compared to the exr saver provided by NT (the normal image saver also doesn't require a license of exrTrader). This also means that it won't save any of the buffers.

Cheers,
Mike
