VideoTutorial: Introduction to PassPort
« on: March 22, 2008, 03:52:55 PM »

Hi,

I've just finished my introduction tutorial to PassPort. Make sure you check it out! Wink Ohh... and don't forget that PassPort has an Easter Special price.

As you may notice, I've choosen to go for a torrent release with this one, so if you can, please help with the seeding! Smiley

Ohh...and I just want to clarify a couple of things I mention in the video that may be unclear or untrue. Tongue

1. In video 03_UI, I say that you don't have to add lights into a pass in order for them to render with the pass. That was true in an earlier version, but now you have to add the lights you want to affect the pass. So, it is very easy to create a keylight pass; just create a pass and add only the keylight.

2. If you don't do any changes outside PassPort depending on wich pass you are working on (such as changing wether or not to render with reflections, doing manual switches to object properties etc) you don't have to save each pass by hand. You can of course use Save All Passes As Scenes and that will prompt you with a filerequester asking you where you want to output all the scenefiles. PassPort will then do the rest. Also, it is not necessary to save out passes if you don't intend to render on a renderfarm!

Happy Easter everyone!
