Network Rendering
« on: December 28, 2007, 07:55:53 PM »

Hi, I'm trying to use exrtrader with Butterfly NetRender 4.02 (BNR4).  I can't seem to get it to output frames when it network renders.  I can only get it to output when rendering from layout (9.3).  Is there anything special I need to know when using BNR4?  I read the manual, and I didn't see anything specific for bnr4, only that it's supposed to work.  Can someone please outline the process of setting up a scene to render with bnr.  I'd like to output a sequence of multi-buffer images including RGB,A,Z and x,y, motion buffers

Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,

Hm, it should work as expected. exrTrader always saves the buffers when rendering in LWSN, there is no setting to explicitly turn it on or off.
Also, BNR 4.02 has native support for exrTrader, I don't exactly know how it is implemented though.

Could you send me a sample scene file (just the .lws will do) to look at? michael(dot)wolf(at)db-w(dot)com

That way I can check if it is an exrTrader problem or an issue that comes up in conjunction with BNR.

Cheers,
Mike
