infiniMap Pro and OSX
« on: August 02, 2006, 05:54:09 PM »

We promised an OSX version of infiniMap Pro and yes, there will be one soon. But since we depend on the JPEG2000 SDK from ERMapper (www.ermapper.com) in some parts, we decided to wait for their newest release, which is announced.

So we need to ask OSX users for a little more patience. Sad

Having just given in to the Apple Store and now waiting for a MacBook Pro to appear, I'm curious whether a Universal Binary release for Mac is planned. It would certainly be very helpful, assuming I can find enough cash down the back of the sofa in the next few months....

Dear Phil,

congratulations on the MacBook Pro Smiley

Currently it may well be that the OSX version of infiniMap Pro will appear as a universal binary only. The ECW/JPEG2000 library we're using has been compiled with XCode before, so that should work well (getting it compiled with CodeWarrior is what is currently stopping us from releasing an OSX version).

Cheers,
Mike
