1  db&w / Announcement / We grieve for Jo Weizenbaum on: March 06, 2008, 08:16:24 PM
Jo Weizenbaum died yesterday in Berlin.

We had the pleasure to meet him in person and he influenced our thinking about technology like no one else. He taught us about humanitarianism and that it will ever be a person, that solves a problem never technology.

Thank you Jo, we will miss you.

7  exrTrader / exrTrader General Discussion / exrTrader software - where to buy on: November 29, 2006, 11:04:09 AM
Dear users,

please note:

The only place to buy db&w products is Share IT(you will be directly linked to them, if you press the buy button on our webiste).  Any other vendor offering db&w products is doing so illegitimately and we won't see a single dime from them. If you are unsure about any offer, please contact us and we can help you out.

Thanks,
Dagmar
8  exrTrader / exrTrader General Discussion / Re: Commonly used buffers on: November 29, 2006, 10:57:51 AM
Hello!
My company use only commonly used buffers. Please give me description of every buffer.
And how we should compose them? (order and math)
I see info about compositing in photoshop, but we need more. Smiley
For, example with mental ray we use

long formula
color*diff_occl*diffuse*shadow + specular*spec_shd + amb_occlus*ambient + reflect + refract + indirect + incand

short formula
shading + specular*spec_shd + amb_occlus*ambient + reflect + refract + indirect + incand

Please give me something like this. Smiley (long and short). Plz! Smiley

Hello Alex,

I strongly recommend to read our user manual carefully. Our unlicensed version only includes the fully functional OpenEXR image loader and saver and may be used for free. To use the complete exrTrader you have to register and pay (39 EUR (excl.Vat) or 49 USD).
The support for regsitered customers is free and we are always happy to help. So do many users here in the forum, too.
Since the OpenEXR file format is quite powerful, we can't provide usecases for any task that may occur.

To get more information about the power of OpenEXR, please have a look at http://www.openexr.com/ .

And as Mike as said training material will be added.

Cheers,
Dagmar

11  exrTrader / exrTrader Bugs / Problems with LW9 on OS and exrTrader - Fixed in V1.0a on: September 19, 2006, 08:16:18 PM
We have discovered an issue with the basic OpenEXR Saver when running LightWave 9.0 on OSX - it basically doesn't save at all.

We're working on a fix and will release it a soon as possible. We're sorry for the mishap and hope you understand, thank you.

The exrTrader Layered Buffer Export is not affected by this issue.

13  infiniMap / Announcements / exTrader will be released at the 18th of September on: September 05, 2006, 03:57:01 PM
On the 18th of September we will release our new product exrTrader.

exrTrader helps you to improve your compositng pipeline.

The exrTrader includes the following plugins:

 - standard LightWave Loader supporting RGBA
 - standard LightWave Savers, supporting all saveable image types except for palettized images.
 - a scene type master plugin for setting option for the image saver (settings are saved with the scene)
 - a image filter plugin that allows to save arbitrary buffers to a single OpenEXR file
 - a dummy saver, that does nothing but allows network render managers to see files saved by the image filter for render success checks.
 - and much more....

exrTrader is our first cross-plattform plugin, so we didn't ingnore Mac-users this time. Wink
14  infiniMap / General infiniMap Discussion / infiniMap Pro and OSX on: August 02, 2006, 05:54:09 PM
We promised an OSX version of infiniMap Pro and yes, there will be one soon. But since we depend on the JPEG2000 SDK from ERMapper (www.ermapper.com) in some parts, we decided to wait for their newest release, which is announced.

So we need to ask OSX users for a little more patience. Sad
