Thanks. I have to thank Marvin Landis here who gave me a few valuable pointers as to how to approch the problem. It is a lot more work than initially estimated, but I decided to do it properly instead of hacking in a slow bump evaluator that I'd want to replace every time I see the code 
This will also be beneficial toward improved texture filtering, some of the information I need to calculate for the bumps will be very useful later on.
